The recent launch of the Women Count - Charity Leaders 2012 research shone a light on the gender representation of the country's top 100 charities, just as FTSE 350 companies have experienced with the Lord Davies review. The index sets out the number of female chief executives and chairs in the top charities by net assets and annual income. The picture is broadly positive, with more women in the most senior roles than in the FTSE 100 companies, but there is still a long way to go.
The research, including the recommendations, were welcomed by the Rt Hon Theresa May, Home Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities who spoke at the launch and is keen to see more progress made in the sector.
